ECC Club Nights
We meet on most Wednesday evenings throughout the year. In the summer at Wimbleball Lake, in autumn ‘the Playwave’ and in the winter in the Butlin’s pool in Minehead.

Winter pool sessions
Our Winter Pool Sessions take place at the Butlins pool in Minehead.
The pool is a great place to practice skills in a safe (and warm) environment.
Club coaches attend the sessions to assist members with rolling and self rescue practice.
Dates are published on Facebook, shared on WhatsApp and in the Calendar at the bottom of the page and elsewhere on the website
Please book a place by 6pm on the Monday prior to the Wednesday Session using the form below. Payment will be collected via Direct Debit
Junior Sessions (£4 each) are 18:45 at the pool for 19:00 on the water to 19:45
Adult Sessions (£6 each) are 19:30 at the pool for 19:45 on the water to 20:30

Summer Lake Sessions
Our Summer Lake Sessions take place at Wimbleball Lake from May – early September.
The lake is a great, fairly controlled, environment for developing paddling skills. Every week we run coached sessions for juniors. For adults there are coached sessions most weeks or the option to go for a self-led paddle.
Junior coached sessions:
18:30 (18:45 on the water) to 19:30
£3 each session.
For 8 year olds and upwards. A great opportunity to get on the water and build confidence.

Adult informal sessions:
Meet 19:30 for 19:45 on the water. Depending on daylight we’ll be off the water between 20:30-21:00. £5 per session for coached sessions or when using club equipment.
Join us by kayak, canoe, SUP, playboat or whatever you choose for a self-led. Bring your own, or request to borrow kit from the club.
We will run blocks of coached sessions over summer. You sign up for a block of coached sessions to ensure the quality of the session and to allow for real progress to be made. When you put your name down, this means you commit to paying for all the sessions in the block. Please follow the Exmoor Canoe Club facebook group for the latest news on these sessions.

Autumn Play Wave @ The Pumping Station
A great opportunity for ECC junior and adult members to practice in easy moving water or go for a play on the wave. These session take normally place throughout September and have finished for autumn 2025.
Meet at Mason Kings, Exebridge for 6:15pm get on, until last light.
(Juniors and adults sessions run simultaneously.)
Our autumn play wave sessions are suitable for advanced juniors (by invite only) and any adults looking to progress on White Water.
This is a very safe opportunity to experience some moving water, breaking in and out of eddies, and for more experienced paddlers, a chance to have a play on the wave. It’s also a really great opportunity to practice rolling in the large pool or build confidence rolling in easy moving water, with experienced paddlers on hand to offer advice and support.
Followed by pub and chips.
