Welcome to Exmoor Canoe Club

We are a social club for new and experienced paddlers around Exmoor, West Somerset & Mid Devon. We have a very active junior section and a growing adult membership. We operate coached sessions on Wednesday evenings at Wimbleball Lake during the summer months and winter pool sessions at Butlins in Minehead. We run regular River and Sea trips, some coached and some ‘peer-paddles’, as well as weekends away paddling on rivers and the sea.

About US

Exmoor Canoe Club was formed in November 2004 and started off primarily as an informal meet & greet service for paddlers in the Exmoor area. Using a message board, local trips down the Upper and Lower Barle were organised and so the club was born.
The club now runs a full and inclusive calendar of events throughout the year, including river trips on Exmoor, Dartmoor and sometimes further afield, sea kayaking on estuaries and in bays on the south and north coast of Devon and surfing trips to some sweet spots in Somerset and Devon.
