Wimbleball Lake Time Trial

An individual time-trial challenge, with a measured lap of 3.8km (2.4miles).

Craft classes of seakayak (SK1 and SK2), Canadian (OC1 and OC2), River/slalom kayaks (RK1, RK2), River/slalom canoes (SC1), SOT (1 and 2), Ski (C & K) and SUP.

The route follows a course of Black Buoys, start at #7 (yacht moorings), go north to #8 (Hill Farm), then turn south and follow headland round east all the way to the end to #5, then back west and south, round to the sheltered cove to #3, then south across to the wood to #1, then back north, past the sailing race hut to the moorings to #7 – always keeping buoys on your right, going clockwise.

All participants must follow Exmoor Canoe Club and SW Lakes Trust rules and regulations at all times. Wimbleball Time Trial is undertaken at your own risk. PFD must be worn at all times, on all craft types. Juniors should be supervised by an adult and non-ECC members to sign in with Lakes Activity Centre before launching.

On completion, record whether 1, 2 or 3 laps, your time, the date and wind conditions and send your log to John Harcombe (kayakstrokes@gmail.com), preferably with gps track for evidence and John will post to the leader board – feel free to post to the ECC Facebook or Instagram pages too.
